The J1 Summer Work in America programme offers full-time students studying in the UK the unique chance to live and work in the USA. As a participant in this programme you can choose to live and work anywhere from San Francisco to Seattle for up to four months between May and October with a month after your work permit ends to travel.

Each year up to 70,000 students annually from all over the world, have taken the opportunity to go on the Summer Work in America Programme. Through the dynamic combination of work and travel, they learn about the United States, its people, the culture and can truly immerse themselves in a different way of life.

Last summer students headed in so many directions from the seaside resort of San Diego to the wide open spaces of a horse farm in Kentucky. Think of the vastness of the US and you realise you are spoiled for choice in a continent that has skyscraper cities, lakes the size of Scotland and a multi cultural buzz that is infectious.
